Who We Are

The Malayalee Community of Horsham (MCH) is a non-profit cultural organisation dedicated to uniting Malayalee families across Horsham and neighbouring towns. We are a family-oriented association that offers a welcoming space for those who have journeyed from Kerala and now call West Sussex home.

Our Mission Pillars

  • Preserve Culture: Celebrate our traditions so every generation enjoys a hint and smell of homeland.
  • Foster Unity: Provide a supportive platform that helps members value and embrace cultural differences.
  • Give Back: Commit to meaningful charitable work for communities locally and internationally.

Our Foundation

Established in December 2012 through the positive amalgamation of Horsham Malayalee Association (HMA) and Rhythm, MCH continues to grow through compassion, inclusivity, and community-minded leadership.

  • Family-first welcome for new neighbours
  • Compassion in action through the Daya initiative
  • Integrity in service to Horsham and beyond

History of MCH

The Malayalee Community of Horsham was officially established in December 2012 when two vibrant local associations—HMA and Rhythm—came together to form a single, family-focused organisation.

Our founding volunteers set out to keep Kerala traditions alive while helping new arrivals settle into life in Horsham. That early spirit of friendship, collaboration, and service still guides every programme we deliver today.

Over the years we have grown into a trusted cultural home, hosting landmark celebrations, championing charitable causes, and creating networks of support for members of all ages.

Sports & Wellbeing

We organise football, cricket, badminton, and track events, proudly representing Horsham at UUKMA tournaments and promoting active lifestyles.

Democratic Stewardship

MCH is governed by a democratically elected Executive Committee. Until 2022 we voted annually alongside Keralapiravi; we now hold elections every two years to ensure continuity and purposeful long-term planning.

The committee leads cultural programming, charitable outreach, sports squads, and partnerships—inviting members to share ideas, volunteer, and help steer the future of the Horsham Malayalee community.

Meet the current office bearers on the Executive Committee page.
